FARM AND FOREST HAWAIʻI
About Us
Farm and Forest Hawaiʻi LLC is a conservation-focused business based in Captain Cook, Hawaiʻi, founded in 2021 by Lester Gebin. Our mission is to protect and restore Hawaiʻi’s native ecosystems through hands-on, field-based solutions grounded in local knowledge and best ecological practices. We also provide agricultural and residential land-management services tailored to the island’s diverse environments.
We are a highly trained and fully insured team specializing in ungulate-proof fencing, feral animal control, invasive species management, and conservation consulting.
Our work encompasses projects for public agencies, nonprofits, and private landowners — including work in remote and culturally sensitive areas across Hawaiʻi Island. Our team also supports long-term contracts focused on habitat protection, animal control, and ecological monitoring.
Lester Gebin manages all projects on-site, drawing on 17 years of experience with The Nature Conservancy, where he helped manage over 10,000 acres of native forest in South Kona and Kaʻū. His background includes:
-
Fence construction and retrofitting
-
Feral animal control
-
Native species restoration and forest bird surveys
-
Herbicide/pesticide application
-
Cultural and archaeological site identification
-
Community outreach and conservation education
-

-

Administration — including grant/proposal writing, budgeting, and communications — is provided by Aliza Gebin, who brings experience in small business operations and ʻāina-based work.
